Last night we painted the living room area and hallway. The art studio space is almost ready too, and I may take some pics of that later. There are some pictures of the freshly painted walls after the break. Looking forward to hosting guests in D.C. soon
- The paint job looked weird at this point. This morning it looked great though, because everything dried out and evened out. This paint was so easy to work with. (I’ll post details on that later.) Whenever we dripped or accidently hit the ceiling with paint, it was ridiculously easy to wipe away. Had a good time painting with Electric Wizard going on the stereo. I was drinking Jameson’s on the rocks out of that coffee mug. Had a bit too much of that, actually…
- When everything was white the space had an awkward, clinical feel. Adding some color really helped. The kitchen area will eventually be painted a brick red / maroon color.
- Leaving the ceilings white makes the space have an open feel. Had to be very careful along the crease, though. At first we tried to tape off the ceiling but painting carefully by hand gave us better results.
- This little brush sucked. I started off with this because I didn’t want to make a mess. Later when I switched to using a larger one, everything was much easier.
- The grey color looks good with the paintings that we’ll finally be hanging up soon.
- Wine and paint. That’s how we do it at the District Hideaway.
